Susan B. Anthony was one of the leading figures in the women's suffrage movement. She co-founded the National American Women's Suffrage Association with Lucy Stone and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. She played an important role in giving women the right to vote. She was even arrested in 1872 for trying to vote because girls weren't allowed to! In part because of her actions, the 19th Amendment was passed in 1920, giving women the constitutional right to vote, although she died before the amendment was passed.
